Discover the harvest season


The harvest season is the time of harvesting the grapes, generally those that will be used in the production of wine or liquor.

During March, a series of activities are held to celebrate the harvest season in the wine-growing areas of Uruguay. Is an event for the whole family and a heritage expression where the charm of local and regional traditions related to migrants and wine production is revived.

Throughout the month, the Uruguayan tourist wineries present the secrets of art and the process of making their wines.

The soils of Montevideo and Canelones are considered the most fertile and most productive, as well as those that are submit to the most modernization and industrialization for the vineyards.

The most important thing at the time of its collection is that the fruit has reached the perfect degree of maturation, this means that the sugars and acids in the fruit have reached the optimum value for the type of wine to be produced. Only in this way can the success of the entire subsequent process be guaranteed.
