Montevideo LGBT+

Diversity for Montevideo is a value that is expressed in its colonial and modern architecture, in its gastronomic proposals, in its accommodation offer and in its people.
Uruguay, known for its open mind towards the region and world, had, since the beginning of the 20th century, an advanced social legislation in the recognition of work and social rights. Today this legislation is completed with the enactment of laws on antidiscrimination, change of registered sex, common-law union, adoption and equal marriage, in order to better protect human rights and build a city that is more inclusive and respectful of diversity. .
Montevideo offers a wide cultural and recreational offer for the LGBT+ community and is considered the most gay-friendly city in Latin America. It is a city that defends diversity from any kind of hate.
