Museum Vilamajó House

Casa Villamajó
ATM
Tourist experience recommended by the Montevideo Tourist Association.

It was the house that the architect Julio Vilamajó built for his family in 1930.

It was inaugurated as a museum in May 2012 and is now conceived as a pole for research and dissemination of the figure and work of the architect, and of architecture and design.

It is the first modern home to open its doors as a museum house in our country.

The house, declared a National Historic Monument in 1990, houses a permanent exhibition on Vilamajó's work, and periodically receives temporary exhibitions related to architecture, design and other related areas. Guided tours, book presentations, events related to national culture and with other museums and cultural institutions in the country and abroad are currently being carried out.

Guided visits are at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
